‘Norton in Your Neighborhood’ with Carver Langston Residents in ANC 5D05, Tonight

December 20, 2016

What D.C. Won, What D.C. Faces Next Year

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will host a “Norton in Your Neighborhood” conversation in conjunction with ANC 5D05 and residents of the Carver Langston community this evening, Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at 6:30 p.m., at Two Rivers Public Charter School Charles Young Campus (820 26th St. NE).

Norton will engage residents in a conversation about her work this session that has protected the District of Columbia’s budget autonomy referendum from being overturned; her success in defeating 26 attempts by Members of Congress to overturn or block the District’s local laws; her strong opposition to permanently shutting down Metro’s late-night weekend service; the priorities she got for D.C. in the recent surface transportation bill; the record-setting number of original cosponsors for her D.C. statehood bill; and other congressional issues of interest to the community. Residents have also expressed interest in what the incoming Trump administration and the Republican House and Senate will mean for the District.
