April 26, 2016

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will be interviewed at the International Association of Exhibitions and Events’ (IAEE) Women's Leadership Forum today, Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at 3:30 p.m., at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center (801 Mt. Vernon PL. NW). IAEE Board Chairman Julie Smith will interview Norton about her life as a child growing up in the District of Columbia, her education at Yale Law School, her work in the Deep South as member of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, her role as a leading feminist, her experience as the first woman to chair the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and on the characteristics necessary for leadership.

“I look forward to meeting with emerging women leaders and sharing my own career path,” Norton said. “The point is to ensure that women continue to increase their representation at leadership levels and break through the glass ceiling.”
