Norton to Host Roundtable on Current and Upcoming Federal Construction Projects in D.C., May 3

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will host a congressional roundtable on federal construction projects in the District of Columbia featuring construction companies on the projects, the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), District of Columbia workers and D.C. small businesses contracted at the sites on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at 6:00 p.m., in 2253 Rayburn House Office Building. Norton said the roundtable will provide D.C. residents an opportunity to learn in greater detail about the hiring practices on federal construction projects in the District and upcoming opportunities for employment and business contracts at the sites. The roundtable participants will be Shapour Ebadi, Director of GSA’s Office of Infrastructure and Campus Development; Kenneth Grunley, President and Chief Executive Officer for Grunley Construction Company; Lincoln Lawrence, Vice President at Clark Construction; and Mark Sikorski, Vice President at General Dynamics Information Technology. Grunley is a contractor for the Lafayette Building Modernization and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Headquarters Project on the St. Elizabeths Campus. Clark Construction is the contractor for the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture project and the Truman Building Modernization. General Dynamics is a contractor at the DHS St. Elizabeths project.
