Norton District Office Open House on October 1

September 27, 2013

WASHINGTON, DC - The office of Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) today said that the Congresswoman and her staff greatly appreciate the welcome to the neighborhood open house planned by the NoMa Business Improvement District (NoMa BID) to celebrate the opening of her new downtown District Office, at 90 K St. NE, on Tuesday, October 1, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. At 6:00 p.m., Norton and Robin Eve Jasper, President of NoMa BID, will speak and cut the ribbon. All D.C. residents and businesses are welcome and encouraged to attend, speak to Norton and her staff, and learn more about the services available through the office. There will be music and light refreshments. The office, which opened in April, serves all residents of the District of Columbia with congressional constituent services.

"How interesting and ironic that federal General Services Administration suggested NoMa, among others, for our new downtown constituent services office," said Norton. "“NoMa is the neighborhood we spent many years working to revive by encouraging federal agencies to move there. NoMa is the neighborhood where we brought the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms as an anchor. And NoMa is the neighborhood where we got the only Metro stop not in the original plan. Now, we ourselves are located in NoMa, in a brand new street-level office. We are delighted to be a NoMa neighbor."
