Norton to Host “Ask Me About DC” Reception with D.C. Hospitality Industry for Members of Congress and Staff

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Eleanor Norton (D-DC), in conjunction with a diverse group of organizations from D.C.'s hospitality industry, will host a Capitol Hill reception on Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at 11:30am-1:30pmin 345 Cannon House Office Building (Cannon Caucus Room) to showcase D.C.'s local restaurants, nightlife, museums, shops, theaters, neighborhoods, and other tourist attractions to congressional and other regional staffers. Samples from some of D.C.'s best restaurants will be provided, along with a box lunch. Interactive stations will include wine tasting, an instant photo booth, and finger printing conducted by the International Spy Museum. The reception will also serve as a networking opportunity.

"D.C. has some of the best restaurants, bars, and tourist attractions in the country, and we want to highlight all our city has to offer so Members of the House and Senate and their congressional staff can get involved and particularly pass along recommendations to their constituents who visit," Norton said. "The National Capital region has undergone an economic renaissance, with new neighborhoods and developments from the Yards, to H Street, and all the way to National Harbor to name a few. We want to ensure the Capitol Hill community is experiencing D.C. to the fullest."

In order to guarantee entrance, participants must bring a business card, or write their name, job title, and email on a card.
