Apply for U.S. Parole Commission

Due to the vacancy on the U.S. Parole Commission that was created by Chairman Isaac Fulwood's retirement, Congresswoman Norton's Federal Law Enforcement Nominating Commission will be accepting applications to fill the open seat. President Obama, like President Clinton, granted Norton senatorial courtesy for some Parole Commission vacancies because the District falls under its jurisdiction.

The position is nominated by President Obama and confirmed by the United States Senate. The position is a 6-year term with the possibility to serve up to 12 years. U.S. Parole commissioners have an influential role in helping to reduce crime and improve reintegration of returning citizens into society. Experience with the criminal justice system is preferred, but not required.

Interested candidates must submit their applications by March 9. Applications should include a résumé and a letter of interest outlining their qualifications and reasons they want the position.
