Curtis Hunter Selected at Tuesday’s Auditions to Perform Today at Lunchtime Music on the Mall

June 6, 2013

WASHINGTON, DC – The office of Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) today announced that Curtis Hunter, on guitar and harmonica, will perform today, June 6, 2013, from noon – 1:00 p.m., for Lunchtime Music on the Mall, on Madison Dr. SW, between 4th St. and 7th St., directly across from the steps of the National Gallery of Art. Norton attended auditions on Tuesday, held by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), for Lunchtime Music on the Mall and the "MetroPerforms!" series, where Hunter was one of many performers to audition. Lunchtime Music on the Mall, sponsored by the WMATA, the D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities, and the National Park Service (NPS), in conjunction with Norton, brings local and regional musicians to the National Mall to perform Tuesdays and Thursdays during the lunchtime hours, giving visitors as well as federal and other office workers downtown a break from the pace of business in Washington. The D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities selects and brings the performers to the Mall on Tuesdays, and WMATA does so on Thursdays.
