Lunchtime Music on the Mall Pre-Launch Postponed Until Thursday
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The office of Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) today said the pre-launch of Lunchtime Music on the Mall with violinist and D.C. resident Clarice Labbe has been postponed due to impending rain. Ms. Labbe will perform instead on Thursday, June 14, 2012 from noon – 2 p.m. on the National Mall near the Smithsonian Metro stop.
The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) and the National Park Service (NPS), in conjunction with the Congresswoman, are bringing local and regional performers to the Mall during the lunchtime hours. During the pre-launch in the month of June, performers will play Tuesdays from noon to 2:00 p.m, weather permitting.
After the formal launch in July, performers will play Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 2:00 p.m. Scheduled to perform Tuesday, June 19 is trumpet player Freddie Dunn, and on June 26, rock band Rosie Likes Red.
