Members to Learn What's New in Washington at Tourist Fair in House Tuesday

February 2, 2009

Washington, D.C. - To acquaint this session's large class of freshmen and other Members of the House and Senate on opportunities, following record-breaking crowds at the inauguration, Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC), in conjunction with the D.C. Chamber of Commerce, will introduce Members and congressional staff to 50 representatives from tourist-related sites and businesses, under the slogan, "Change Came to Washington and Washington, D.C. has changed." D.C.'s three sports team mascots and representatives will be on hand to give members and staff the most current information about the many attractions and services available in the nation's capital that grow each year. Representatives from all the city's sites - from the newest, such as the Congressional Visitors Center and the Newseum, to the old favorites - will be on hand to discuss everything that the Members' constituents may want to know in today's climate about getting the most out of a visit to the District. Light refreshments provided by the D.C. Chamber of Commerce.
