Norton Ask Parties to Meet at the House on Streetcar Dispute
The Office of Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) today said that the Congresswoman regretted that the issue of overhead wires for streetcars has escalated after the disposition of federal funds had became a part of the discussion. In prior separate discussions with the concerned parties, the Congresswoman indicated that she believed that the issues between the National Capital Planning Commission and the District could be resolved, despite the existence of federal statutes concerning overhead wires. The Congresswoman continues to believe that this matter can be resolved and is asking the appropriate officials to come to her office for a meeting next week.
