Norton at Press Conference Tomorrow on Low Wages in Federal Buildings

May 7, 2013

WASHINGTON, DC – Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC), a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC), will join low-wage District of Columbia residents, other low-wage workers from this region, CPC co-chairs Rep. Raúl M. Grijalva (D-AZ) and Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN), and other CPC members at a press conference on federal government complicity in low wages paid to private sector workers in federal buildings or facilities, on Wednesday at 9 a.m. in Union Station.

Union Station is a federally owned facility that houses some commercial establishments that pay low wages. Norton has been working with D.C. residents who are private sector workers in federal buildings and facilities, such as the Ronald Reagan Building and the National Zoo, in an effort to help them achieve living wages with benefits.
