Norton Community Meeting Tonight to Allay Concerns About Nebraska Avenue DHS Complex
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will hold a Ward Circle community meeting to allay concerns of residents about the expansion of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Nebraska Avenue Complex tonight, Monday, September 24, 2012, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Horace Mann Elementary School, 4430 Newark Street, NW. Norton will be joined by Ward 3 Councilmember Mary Cheh and officials from DHS and the General Services Administration (GSA).
"During our community meeting last October which responded to traffic, parking, construction and other issues related to the Department of Homeland Security presence near Ward Circle, a plan to double the number of DHS employees raised serious new questions that we have worked to solve," Norton said. "DHS and GSA officials will be at this evening's meeting to lay to rest the community's expansion concerns, discuss upcoming construction, and to respond to their questions."
