‘Norton in Your Neighborhood’ Tonight in Ward 7

March 8, 2016

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will host a “Norton in Your Neighborhood” community conversation with Ward 7 residents tonight, Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at 7:00 p.m., at DC Scholars Public Charter School (5601 E Capitol St. SE). Norton will engage Ward 7 residents in a discussion of the major funding and legislative victories for the District of Columbia that she won last year; D.C. priorities passed in the new surface transportation bill; a 25% increase in total funds for the D.C. Tuition Assistance Grant Program (DCTAG), which has doubled college attendance in D.C.; achievement of the highest ever number of original House and Senate cosponsors for her D.C. statehood bill; and other congressional issues of interest to the community.

“I am looking forward to meeting with my Ward 7 constituents to offer an update on what is happening the Congress and to receive an update on what the Ward 7 community needs,” Norton said.”
