‘Norton in Your Neighborhood’ Tonight with River Terrace Community Organization
WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will host a “Norton in Your Neighborhood” community conversation with the River Terrace Community Organization tonight, Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at 6:30 p.m., at the River Terrace Education Campus (420 34th St. NE). Norton will engage River Terrace-area residents on improving federal park lands in Ward 7, increasing waterfront development along the Anacostia River, and other issues affecting the Ward 7 community. She will also discuss the recent major funding and legislative victories for the District of Columbia, Mayor Bowser’s recent announcement on a vote for statehood in November, congressional attacks on the District’s home rule, the President’s fiscal year 2017 budget, the highest number ever of House and Senate original cosponsors for her D.C. statehood bill, and other congressional issues of interest to the community.
