‘Norton in Your Neighborhood’ with Advisory Neighborhood Commission 8C, Wednesday

February 3, 2020

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will host a "Norton in Your Neighborhood" conversation with Advisory Neighborhood Commission 8C on Wednesday, February 5th, at 6:45 p.m. at the R.I.S.E. Demonstration Center at St. Elizabeths.

Norton will engage District of Columbia residents in a conversation on recent congressional actions, including the historic momentum for D.C. statehood that has developed in the House and Senate. Norton recently announced that on February 11th the House Oversight and Reform Committee will, for the first time in over 25 years, mark up and vote on D.C. statehood legislation, H.R. 51. Norton will also discuss her successful efforts of helping revitalize District neighborhoods, including the Wharf, the Capitol Riverfront, NoMa, and Walter Reed.

Because of Norton's record passing bills last Congress in the minority, the Center for Effective Lawmaking ranked Norton the most effective House Democrat in the last Congress.
