‘Norton in Your Neighborhood’ with ANC 5E, Tonight

February 15, 2017

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will host a "Norton in Your Neighborhood" conversation in conjunction with Advisory Neighborhood Commission 5E this evening, Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at 6:30 p.m., at Friendship Armstrong Elementary Academy (1400 1st St. NW).

Norton will engage District of Columbia residents about how she is proceeding in her ongoing fight to preserve D.C.'s local medical aid-in-dying bill from being overturned by Congress; how she will approach D.C. and other issues under a Trump administration and a Republican-controlled Congress; building on her success the last Congress in defeating 26 attempts to block or overturn D.C.'s local laws, including eight attempts to overturn D.C.'s gun safety laws; continuing to protect the District's budget autonomy referendum, which is now law, from being overturned; securing historic funding for D.C. Tuition Access Grants (DCTAG); the priorities she got for D.C. in the recent surface transportation bill; and other congressional issues of interest to the community.
