Norton Monitoring Sidewalk and Traffic Lane Closures in NW
October 16, 2012
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) today alerted residents in the Ward Circle neighborhood to sidewalk and lane closures as the construction project at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Nebraska Avenue complex finishes up. The sidewalk along Nebraska Avenue NW in front of the DHS complex is closed for three weeks and the curb lane adjacent to the sidewalk is closed to traffic during daytime hours. The Congresswoman is monitoring the closing and insisting that the General Services Administration (GSA), which is responsible for the project at the DHS complex, stay within the time frame announced for these closures. At her September 24th community meeting, GSA alerted residents of these closures.
