Norton Names Witnesses She Would Like to Hear From About Attack on Capitol
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) today suggested witnesses she would like the House Select Committee on the January 6th Insurrection to hear from as it begins its work.
“The police officers who testified yesterday have laid an imperative predicate for further investigation,” Norton said. “To understand what happened, I believe the committee should particularly call Mark Meadows, the chief of staff for President Trump at the time of the attack, and Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, who spoke to the president during the attack, among others. Moreover, the attack was called for out in the open, yet there were no high-level warnings from the FBI or from the Department of Homeland Security at the time. We need to know why.”
