Washington, DC-The Office of Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) today released the following Norton statement on the announcement by Rep. Tom Davis (R-VA) that he will not seek reelection:

"Tom Davis put aside party affiliation and partisanship and took leadership on the most basic of American rights for the people of the District of Columbia. Beyond voting rights, I am grateful that Tom honored District residents by consistently respecting home rule and working with me on many hearings and benefits for the residents of this city."
