Norton on Host Committee for Bipartisan Congressional Gathering at Nationals Game Tonight

June 5, 2013

WASHINGTON, DC – Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will attend the Washington Nationals game this evening as a member of the bipartisan host committee for the inaugural Congressional Night with the Nationals. Democratic and Republican members of Congress, along with their families and staff, will join together at the game in an effort to help promote civility in Congress.

"I am very pleased to be part of the host committee for tonight's congressional fan event," said Norton. "I hope I won't be alone cheering for the Nats against the Mets, which, of course, have a big congressional delegation! Finally, we've found a good setting to bring Democrats and Republicans together for some repair work. I'm used to being a one-member congressional delegation, but I will be trying to recruit at least enough fans among my colleagues to keep them buying tickets for games and helping the D.C. economy."
