Norton Said Stimulus Grant Helps D.C. with the Other Side of Health Care: Prevention
WASHINGTON, DC - As Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) presses for the health care reform passage this weekend, she said that the perfect corollary is the announcement by First Lady Michelle Obama and U.S. Departmentof Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius of $4.9 million in stimulus funds to the D.C. Department of Health. "D.C.'s wellness campaign for tobacco addiction prevention and reduction goes to the other essential ingredient of health care reform: helping citizens reform habits that often are the chief causes of health problems," Norton said. The announcement will be at 1 p.m., today, Fri., March 19, at 200 Independence Ave., SW.
