Norton Sponsors Small Business Forum for New Homeland Security Headquarters at St. E's (9/18/07)

Washington, DC-- Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton and GSA will sponsor the first small business forum on opportunities that will be available at the new Department of Homeland Security (DHS) headquarters on the campus of St. Elizabeths Hospital, the first federal construction east of the Anacostia River, from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM, at Matthews Memorial Baptist Church, 2616 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, SE. Norton will speak at 9:30.

The revitalization of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue is one of the main reasons Norton has pressed for the location of DHS at St.E's. The House has approved the appropriation for the headquarters and Senate approval is expected shortly.
