April 13, 2009
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) has invited four disadvantaged children from the District of Columbia to be her guests at the Annual Easter Egg Roll at the White House. Her guests for the event, held this afternoon on the White House South Lawn, will be one of the surviving children of Erika Peters, who last week was killed along with two of her sons. Norton invited Peters' daughter Ashley, 2, Peter's nephew, Michael Peterson, 10, and two of their guardians, along with Lionel Davis, 8, and Isaiah Moon, 5, of the Children of Mine Center in Southeast.
Tickets to the annual event were distributed through the White House. However, Members of Congress were invited.
