Norton to Announce Winners of Best D.C. Food Truck Competition Saturday

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will announce the winners of this year's "Trucky Awards" on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. during the day-long (1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.) gourmet DC Funky Fresh Foodie Fest food truck festival and summer concert, at the D.C. Fairgrounds, 1299 Half St. SE (near Nationals Stadium). "The District's most popular cuisine on wheels has been an asset to the city and a convenience providing new variety for our tastes," Norton said. "The food truck phenomenon has taken our city by storm, offering everything from sandwiches to barbecue to Indian food curbside. It will be a mouthful of fun to present awards to the food trucks voted to be the best in D.C. Given the variety and excellence of our food trucks, I don't envy the difficult mission of the voters, but I certainly envy the tasting they will do in the process of choosing the winners!"
