Norton to Celebrate Opening of New Tennis, Education, and Community Center Saturday

November 16, 2012

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will mark the opening of the Washington Tennis & Education Foundation's (WTEF) new, multi-million dollar tennis, education, and community center at a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday, November 17, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at 200 Stoddert Place SE. The new center will offer after-school education and athletic programs to young people in Ward 7.

"The Washington Tennis & Education Foundation has served Ward 4 residents for decades. I am pleased to see a similar and much-needed facility in Ward 7 as the WTEF opens a new tennis, education, and community center," Norton said. "The WTEF's new tennis courts, classrooms, computer lab, and fitness room will bring a wonderful new outlet to a ward that is often overlooked when such facilities are considered."
