Norton to Cut Ribbon at Democracy Prep Congress Heights Public Charter School, Today

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will join officials to cut the ribbon on the new Democracy Prep Congress Heights Public Charter School today, Friday, June 8, 2018, at 3100 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. SE. Nearly 50 percent of District of Columbia public school students attend charter schools.

"I am pleased to be able to welcome a new public charter school to the District," Norton said. "Our public charter schools have helped the District build one of the most robust public school choice systems in the nation. Public charter schools, rather than federally-funded private school vouchers, are the way to provide publicly accountable educational alternatives to D.C. families."
