WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will deliver the commencement address to graduates of Georgetown Law School and receive an honorary degree on Sunday, May 20, 2018, at 2:00 p.m., on Healy Lawn (37th St. and O St. NW). She will receive an honorary degree along with Merrick Garland, Chief Justice of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.

"It is a special honor to receive an honorary degree from Georgetown Law School, where teaching law has been a major and enjoyable part of my professional life," Norton said. "I particularly welcome the opportunity to congratulate a new class of young of lawyers. As the profession continues to rapidly evolve in our ever-changing world, this year's graduates will use their law degrees to bring about change not only in the traditional practice of law, but also in leadership positions enhanced by the Georgetown Law degree."
