Norton to Deliver Keynote Remarks at Public Charter School Grand Opening
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Office of Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) announced she will offer keynote remarks at the grand opening of the Meridian Public Charter School Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at 11:00 a.m at 2120 13th Street, NW. Meridian Public Charter School recently moved from its location on Florida Avenue, NW, where it had been for a decade. Norton will get a first-hand look at the public charter school's new home, including an upgraded gymnasium, library, and 21st century classrooms.
"The grand opening of the Meridian Public Charter School is an occasion for a big celebration for the move from a converted factory building to a 21st century state-of-the-art school," Norton said. "The parents, staff, and the community deserve high praise for taking the old Harrison School and converting it into a center of learning and a community jewel."
