Norton to Help Launch New Children’s Book by WUSA9’s Markette Sheppard, Today

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will speak at the launch of a new children's book, What Is Light?, by WUSA9's Great Day Washington host Markette Sheppard today, Sunday, June 24, at 5:00 p.m., at Busboys and Poets – Brookland (625 Monroe St. NE).

"Markette Sheppard has now added ‘author to her very successful career here. I look forward to celebrating with Markette and our residents as we launch her fun and exciting children's board book," Norton said. "Her book is exemplary of the style of early childhood education all of the District's children should have access to every day."
