Norton to Host 2019 Small Business Fair, Wednesday

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) has announced her 2019 Small Business Fair will take place this Wednesday, June 19th from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. Norton will host workshops, guest speakers, and networking opportunities to help small businesses succeed in the District of Columbia. The goal of the fair is to help small businesses launch, grow, and innovate.

"Small businesses are the lifeblood of not only the American economy but also the District of Columbia's economy," Norton said. "Over 98 percent of all businesses in the District are run by small business owners. I want to thank every small business for creating nearly 250,000 jobs in the local economy and for making the District a prosperous place to do business."

This year's event will feature:

• New business workshops and prominent business leaders as speakers and workshop leaders.
• Opportunities to connect with federal and local D.C. government agencies seeking contractors and small businesses to hire.
• A "Business Warriors Pitch" event, as well as the recognition of the Norton 2019 Small Business of the Year Award winner.
• Workshops include: digital marketing, access to capital, legal guidance, government certification, fundraising with venture capital, talent acquisition recruitment, leveraging technology, scaling startups, brand management and innovation

Norton's Small Business Fair is a chance for small business owners and employees to take time out of their busy schedule to recharge, learn more about running their businesses effectively, and connect with other businesses in the area. Attending will be over 25 federal and local government agencies that are looking to hire small businesses as contractors.
