Norton to Host National Mall Roundtable with NPS, Trust for the National Mall, Smithsonian, U.S. Commission of Fine Arts, and District Residents, Tomorrow

September 17, 2014

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will host a National Mall Roundtable from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. tomorrow, Thursday, September 18, 2014, in B-318 Rayburn House Office Building, to discuss turf regulations; transportation around the Mall, including a potential Circulator Mall route and pedicab regulation; food truck and vendor licensing; and many other ideas residents are beginning to offer for the Mall. Representatives from the National Park Service (NPS), the Trust for the National Mall, the Smithsonian, and the U.S. Commission of Fine Arts will answer questions and take suggestions from District of Columbia residents.

"D.C. residents have had no say on the transformational changes underway on the Mall," Norton said. "I urge our residents to come out and use this opportunity to give a hometown take on what they think about the Mall and its future plans. This valuable asset for the nation begins with D.C. residents, who have access to the Mall every day."
