Norton to Host Unemployment Roundtable with Experts and District Residents, Tomorrow
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will host a roundtable, entitled "An Urgent Mission: Finding Jobs for Unemployed D.C. Residents," tomorrow, Wednesday, October 29, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the John A. Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Room 412. This will be Norton's last roundtable of this Congress, and it will feature unemployment experts and focus on residents who have taken the brunt of the Great Recession in mid-career, now left unemployed; others who had always worked full time, now part time employees; some who went to college as they looked for a job, now young victims of the Great Recession; and others for whom work has always been elusive. Residents are encouraged to attend the roundtable to share their stories or simply to learn what can be done about today's unemployment and underemployment climate. Residents who wish to share their personal experiences at the roundtable should contact Tristan Breaux (202-408-9041) or Christy Gamble (202-225-8050).
