Norton to Host Women’s History Symposium on D.C.’s ‘Women of Excellence,’ Monday
WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will commemorate Women’s History Month by hosting a “Women of Excellence Symposium” with Trinity Washington University students on Monday, March 14, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., at Trinity Washington University’s Social Hall (125 Michigan Ave. NE). The event is open to the public. The roundtable discussion will feature a panel of esteemed women who have excelled in their respective fields in the District of Columbia: Nakeisha Neal Jones, Executive Director of Public Allies DC; Laila Linares, Surge Fleet Life Cycle Manager at the Department of Navy’s Military Sealift Command; and Gina F. Adams, Senior Vice President for Government Affairs at the FedEx Corporation.
“Trinity students themselves are on their way to becoming ‘women of excellence,’” Norton said. “They are a perfect audience for a give-and-take conversation with women who have shown what can be accomplished.”
