Norton to Lead Debate for Democrats on House Floor Against Bill to Repeal D.C. Budget Autonomy Referendum, Today

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The office of Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) announced that she will manage the debate for the Democrats on the House floor this afternoon against H.R. 5233, a bill that would repeal a referendum passed overwhelmingly by D.C. voters in 2013 that granted the District budget autonomy. The House is expected to debate the rule for consideration of the bill at approximately 12:30 p.m. The general floor debate on the bill is expected at approximately 3:00 p.m.
