Norton to Lead Fiesta D.C. Parade as Grand Marshal, Sunday
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC), as Grand Marshal, will lead the Parade of Nations, walking for the 43rd annual Fiesta D.C. Festival by walking down Constitution Avenue between 7th Street NW and 14th Street NW, beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 21.
"It is a special honor to be chosen as Grand Marshal for the Parade of Nations by my Hispanic constituents, who have contributed so much to the District of Columbia," said Norton. "Our Hispanic residents play a major role in our city's claim to be one of the nation's most cosmopolitan and diverse cities."

The Parade of Nations will precede the Fiesta D.C. festivities, which are expected to last from noon to 7 p.m. and draw thousands from throughout the nation to Constitution Avenue for live music and entertainment. For her own celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Norton is planning a roundtable discussion on how the city is responding to thousands of unaccompanied children who have crossed the border from Central America.
