Norton to March in Annual July Fourth Palisades Parade to Remind U.S. That Taxation Without Representation Still Exists Only in D.C., Wednesday

July 2, 2018

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will participate in the annual Palisades Fourth of July Parade on Wednesday, July 4, 2018. The parade, organized by the Palisades Citizens Association, kicks off at 11:00 a.m. and proceeds along MacArthur Blvd. NW from the firehouse on Whitehaven Pkwy. NW to the Palisades Recreation Center (5200 Sherier Pl. NW).

"I would not miss walking in our Palisades Fourth of July Parade, our oldest hometown Fourth of July parade, attracting residents and floats from throughout the city," Norton said. "More than any other jurisdiction, D.C. residents should march on July 4 to remind our country that the war to end taxation without representation is not finished and will not be until the District of Columbia is no longer the only jurisdiction that pays federal taxes without representation."
