Norton to March with Girl Scouts in National Cherry Blossom Parade, Tomorrow

April 15, 2016

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will march in the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade tomorrow, Saturday, April 16, 2016, beginning at 10:00 a.m., at the intersection of 7th St. NW and Constitution Ave. NW. Norton will march down Constitution Avenue with Girl Scouts from nine different troops from the District of Columbia. Norton has walked in every Cherry Blossom Parade since being elected to Congress to help emphasize its importance to D.C.’s tourist economy and to welcome visitors to the nation’s capital.

“The National Cherry Blossom Parade is not only about the cherry blossoms and the coming of spring,” Norton said. “The parade occurs in the nation’s capital and pays tribute to one of our city’s most exciting and unique attractions. I walk to showcase our hometown during the cherry blossom season, when we draw record numbers of tourists, who help fuel our economy.”
