Norton to Meet with her Congressional Latino Council to Discuss Needs of the Hispanic Community, Today

WASHINGTON, DC -- Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will host a lunch meeting with her Congressional Latino Council in her House office today, September 29, 2136 Rayburn House Office Building. The Congresswoman has invited guests from the University of the District of Columbia (UDC) to brief members on recruitment and retention of Latino students at UDC and the Community College of the District of Columbia, and from La Clinica del Pueblo to provide a briefing on the rising rate of HIV/AIDS among Latino men.

"The needs of my Latino constituents are many and diverse," said Norton. "The feedback from my Congressional Latino Council is vital to helping me sort out and prioritize the concerns of D.C.'s Hispanic residents."

This group of prominent Latino leaders from organizations throughout the city helps the Congresswoman engage the District's Latino community on public policy and other community issues.
