Norton to Offer Remarks at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for New D.C. Campus

WASHINGTON, DC -- On Wednesday, September 22, Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will give remarks at the ribbon cutting ceremony for The Chicago School of Professional Psychology's new D.C. Campus and its Center for African Psychology, the first center devoted to serving the mental health needs of African nations by providing education, research, advocacy and psychological services to countries that have undergone significant trauma due to conflict, natural disaster, poverty, political upheaval, or public health epidemics. The ceremony will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at The McPherson Building, 901 15th Street NW.
Norton said, "The Chicago School of Professional Psychology has a respected history of educating some of the nation's best psychologists. A campus here in the nation's capital will be of invaluable benefit to the District's mental health community in bringing providers and services to the District of Columbia and elsewhere.
Founded in 1979, The Chicago School of Professional Psychologyis one of the nation's leading not-for-profit graduate school devoted exclusively to the study of psychology and related behavioral sciences. The inaugural year of the D.C. campus, starting this fall, will offer two Master's degree programs in Counseling Psychology and in Forensic Psychology, and a Doctor of Psychology program in Clinical Psychology.
