Norton to Participate in WUSA’s ‘March for Our Lives’ Town Hall, Tomorrow Evening
WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will join students from across the District of Columbia region and the country for a special "March For Our Lives" Town Hall, hosted by WUSA, tomorrow, Friday, March 23, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F St. NW). Students and survivors of gun violence will speak out about their experiences and call on Congress to enact meaningful gun safety legislation.
As thousands come to D.C. to march for federal gun safety legislation, Norton will also welcome two students from Stoneman Douglas High School on WUSA's Great Day Washingtontomorrow, Friday, March 23, 2018, at 9:00 a.m. She will talk with them about her fight to defeat legislation introduced by Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Representative Tom Garrett (R-VA) to wipe out nearly all of the District's gun safety laws, including its total ban on guns in schools and assault rifles. Norton has kept the Rubio-Garrett bill from being passed in both the Senate and House.
