Norton to Present Tarana Burke, Founder of the #MeToo Movement, with Newseum’s Power Shift Award

WASHINGTON, D.C – Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will present the Newseum's Free Expression Power Shift Award to Tarana Burke, founder of the Me Too Movement, tonight at 6:30 p.m. Norton, a lifelong advocate for women and victims of abuse, is honored to be recognizing Burke's achievements in activism and advocacy.

"Tarana Burke's Me Too initiative has inspired millions of women who have come forward to share their stories of abuse," Norton said. "Tarana is harnessing the worldwide attention #MeToo has received into a movement for healing and growth. She is truly a role model for us all."
