Norton to Preside Over House Floor Today
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, at noon, Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will preside over House Floor consideration of the Small Business Lending Fund Act of 2010 (H.R. 5297), of which she is a cosponsor. H.R. 5297 directs the Secretary of the Treasury to make capital investments in eligible institutions in order to increase the availability of credit for small businesses.As Norton works to secure the D.C. House vote, she continues to take opportunities to make sure the District is represented on the floor. Not long after coming to the House, Norton wrote a memo to demonstrate that she should be permitted to vote in the Committee of the Whole, where much House business is heard and voted on, just as she votes in committees in the House.
