Norton to Preview Town Meeting on Federal Use of East St. Es Campus at 10 AM Press Conference Today

The Office of Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) said the Congresswoman will take a few minutes from a hearing in the Rayburn House Office Building today on the country's financial crisis to join Mayor Adrian Fenty at a press conference at the St. Es East Campus Chapel Building at 10 AM. She will briefly discuss the decision of her subcommittee to expand the Department of Homeland Security headquarters project beyond the West Campus to now include the East Campus of St. Elizabeths -- in advance of a more comprehensive and detailed roll out of the project to the community at 5:30 PM today at the UPO Petey Green Community Center:2907 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. SE. Federal development on both campuses is expected to further spur retail development on Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, one of the major reasons Norton has pressed the headquarters project and its appropriation through Congress.
