Norton to Receive Ms. Foundation Women of Vision Award in New York City Monday

WASHINGTON, DC – Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) on Monday in New York City will be an honoree at the Ms. Foundation's 2013 Gloria Awards: A Salute to Women of Vision for the significant difference she has made in the lives of women and girls and for her role at the forefront in the fight for equality.

"Who wouldn't be honored to receive a Gloria Award, named for one of the great icons of modern feminism and my good friend Gloria Steinem," said Norton. "I am grateful that the Ms. Foundation continues to be at the forefront of the women's struggle for equality in our country. I will work to earn this award by doing my best never to let Congress off the hook for doing its part for the women of our nation."

Each year at its annual gala, the Ms. Foundation's President and CEO, Anika Rahman and Co-founder Gloria Steinem honor women who have ignited policy and culture change.
