Norton to Serve on Jury for Mock Trial of Hamlet at Shakespeare Theater Company, Tonight

February 26, 2018

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will participate in a special Shakespeare Theater Company performance of a mock criminal trial of Hamlet tonight, Monday, February 26, 2018, at 7:30 p.m., at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F St NW). The mock trial was originally created by U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy, who will serve as the trial's judge this evening. Norton will serve on the jury to decide whether Hamlet's plea of insanity holds water. Norton is an annual performer in the long-running comedic event "Will on the Hill," also hosted by the Shakespeare Theatre Company.

"We continue to be grateful to be the home base for the Shakespeare Theater Company as it continues to find innovative ways to bring together prominent D.C. leaders from all backgrounds to showcase the classics to a wide audience," Norton said. "I cannot wait to hear the arguments at tonight's mock trial of Hamlet."
