June 4, 2015

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will speak at the District of Columbia's Chamber of Commerce's Champions Small Business Awards & Expo and congratulate award winners tomorrow, Friday, June 5, 2015, at 10:45 a.m. at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center (801 Mt. Vernon Place NW).

"I applaud the Chamber for this special ceremony dedicated to recognizing our small businesses," Norton said. "Here in the District of Columbia, the home of the behemoth federal government, it is important that we pause to understand what it takes to build and operate a small business in the nation's capital, one of the most competitive cities in the world."

Next week, Norton is hosting her annual Small Business Fair on Wednesday, June 10, from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center to help District small business owners and residents start, develop and grow their businesses. D.C. Chamber of Commerce President Harry Wingo will provide remarks during the fair's opening session and will moderate a panel discussion with other business leaders and experts. D.C. residents and businesses interested in participating are encouraged to register by Friday, June 5 by clicking here.
