Norton to Speak at Georgetown Black Alumni Summit, Saturday
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) announced today that she will speak at Georgetown University's Black Alumni Summit this Saturday, September 28th, at 9:15 a.m. on Georgetown's main campus in the Hariri Building. Norton was a full-time tenured professor at the law school before being elected to Congress and was recently attended a Georgetown University Law Center groundbreaking of a proposed installation honoring her career in public service, civil rights advocacy, and pioneering work representing women in the workplace. Even after her election, Norton taught a seminar entitled Lawmaking and Statutory Interpretation (House Rules permit part-time teaching by Members) and recently delivered the Law Center's Commencement Address in 2018.
"As a faculty member for over 20 years, Georgetown University holds a special place in my heart and mind," Norton said. "It will be an honor to address our Black Alumni Summit this Saturday and share my experiences at Georgetown."
