Norton to Speak at Press Conference Following Senate Vote on D.C Circuit Nominee Wilkins

November 18, 2013

WASHINGTON, DC – Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC), the chair of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) Taskforce on Judicial Nominations, will speak at a press conference today following the cloture vote on the nomination of Judge Robert L. Wilkins for a seat on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. President Obama, like President Clinton, granted Norton senatorial courtesy to recommend federal district court judges and other federal law enforcement officials in the District. Wilkins was the first of Norton's recommendations to President Obama for a vacancy on the district court, where he currently serves. At the press conference, Norton will join Senators Ben Cardin (D-MD) and Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), and Representatives Marcia Fudge (D-OH), chair of the CBC, and John Conyers (D-MI), Ranking Member of the House Judiciary Committee.
