Norton to Speak at the DC Health Link Open Enrollment Day, Tomorrow
WASHINGTON, DC – Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will speak at the DC Health Link Open Enrollment Day event tomorrow, Saturday, November 23, 2013, at 12:00 p.m., at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Library (901 G St. NW). The event will enable District residents, small business owners and their employees to learn more about DC Health Link and to enroll in health insurance plans that meet their needs, with trained experts on site to assist with the enrollment process.
"On Saturday, DC Health Link will be going to residents, instead of waiting for residents to come to them," said Norton. "With the assistance and information DC Health Link is providing D.C. residents, there can be no excuse for being without health care or not signing up on the exchange. Proactive steps like these are why I am hopeful that the District, which was one of only four jurisdictions that had a successful launch of its health care exchange on October 1, will continue to build on its initial success in becoming a gold-standard for our nation's health insurance exchanges."
DC Health Link, in partnership with DC Public Library, has opened two new health insurance enrollment centers, with on-site DC Health Link Assisters and insurance brokers. The DC Health Link Enrollment Center at the location of tomorrow's event, the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library (901 G St. NW), is open Monday through Wednesday, from 10:30 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday and Friday, from 10:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., and Saturday, from 10:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. The DC Health Link Enrollment Center at the Deanwood Library and Recreation Center (1350 49 Street, NE), is open Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, from 10:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., and Tuesday and Thursday, from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m.
