Norton to Speak at Ward 8 Unity Luncheon, Sunday
WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will speak at a Ward 8 Unity Luncheon, hosted by Councilmember Trayon White, tomorrow, Sunday, February 10, 2019, at 2:00 p.m., at Ballou Senior High School (2401 4th St. SE).
"I look forward to celebrating Ward 8 and the significant contributions of its residents, who make this community so special," Norton said. "I worked to bring the Department of Homeland Security headquarters to Ward 8, the first federal agency ever built east of the Anacostia River. With several agencies of this multi-agency federal complex still being built, I am continuing our efforts to ensure that Ward 8 and its residents benefit through jobs and economic development from the presence of a federal agency, as has occurred when federal agencies have been built in areas west of the Anacostia River."
